My fused glass landscapes are composed of multi-layered clear sheet glass, and colored crushed glass called frit. I use a torch to form strings of glass to include in the compositions. They are all glass with no paint involved. The artwork undergoes multiple kiln firings, with repeated applications of sheet glass, frit, and stringers. The result is a one inch thick slab of glass, with a 3 dimensional effect. Finally, they are slump-fired to achieve a free standing shape.

Light is essential to my work. Without light, my art glass is dark and disappointing. Likewise, our lives require illumination to be meaningful. My intention is to render the beauty of God’s creation of nature in my glass, as well as to reflect His light.

Jesus said “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”. John 8:12
